This is a great opportunity for Give organizations to meet each other and start conversations about how you might work together during the campaign this year.
Don’t worry if you didn’t RSVP. We will be in the community room, so there is plenty of space to spread out and make connections and plans.
Nonprofit Profile first drafts are due July 30.
If yours isn’t in yet, this is your nudge to get it done this week.
Here is why it matters right now: you won’t be able to receive Inspiration Gift donations until your profile has been submitted. Every year I hear from donors who can’t find an organization in the drop down menu, and I would love to skip that this year. Getting your profile in now makes it that much easier for us to raise money on your behalf.
And remember, this is a first draft. You will still be able to make edits in October.
Inspiration Gifts
The online portal goes live this weekend for a soft opening on August 1. The link will be at the top of our landing page at givepikespeak.org. We will start the public push for donations on Monday, August 3.
A few reminders before it opens:
- You must secure at least one $500 donation.
- If you are doing a pooled board match, reach out to me directly so we can talk through the logistics.
- For everything else, please use the payment portal on the website as is. The system works really well when all payments run through the portal, and it means everyone gets the receipts and invoices they need.
- If you need an exception, contact me and we will see what is possible.
I walked through Inspiration Gifts at the Tips and Tricks workshop earlier this month. You can hear that part of the conversation starting around the eight minute mark.
I will send a follow up announcement once the portal is up and running, with all the links and reminders in one place. If you still have questions after watching the workshop video, please reach out.
Fox21 sign ups are coming
I am about to release the sign up sheet for August, September, and October spots on the Loving, Living Local segment on Fox21 News. Each week we get a segment during the Wednesday morning broadcast to highlight the work of a local nonprofit.
These spots are first come, first serve. If you are interested in being on the show during these months, set an alarm or a reminder to check your email. They can go quickly.
I will release the sign up list this Wednesday, July 29 at 9:00 AM. It goes out to the same contact list that receives this update.
Talk with your team before then about who is responsible for securing your spot, and please take only one spot for your organization.
The interview time is yours to use however you would like. There is no need to talk about Give or the campaign during the offseason. Talk about your mission, an upcoming event, or a new program. They love being creative and doing more than a sit down interview, so think about what would make for good live TV.
We have this spot year round, so if you don’t get one this time, I will keep sending the sign ups out for the rest of the year for this class. If you have a big event in April, don’t take your spot now. Wait until spring and get airtime closer to your event.
If you are a returning organization and have already been on the program this year, please wait to sign up until at least six months after your last visit.
