Simple ways to show up for your neighbors. Pick one and go!
Most of us want to be good neighbors. We care about the people around us. We mean to do more. But knowing where to start can feel like too much to figure out alone. Tuesday, June 23rd is TogetherTuesday, a national day of community action from GivingTuesday and Be The People. It’s a day for turning those feelings into one simple thing you actually do.
Give Pikes Peak has gathered simple, concrete ideas from local nonprofits and organizations. Here’s all you need to do:
- Browse the ideas below.
- Pick one that fits your day.
- Do it on Tuesday, June 23rd.
- Share what you did and tag #TogetherTuesday and the nonprofit you supported.
One person, one action, one day, multiplied across the entire Pikes Peak region.

Friends of Cheyenne CanonThrough our classes we show students many ways that all of our choices impact our bodies, and we encourage everyone to demonstrate their appreciation of their body by making choices that support its healthy functioning. Our ask is that you take a little time, go to the grocery store, or better yet a farmer's market and choose a fruit or vegetable you haven't tried before, or a favorite you haven't prepared in a while. Explore its health benefits, share with friends or family, and enjoy taking care of you! We would like to also possibly link out to a listing of our local farmer's markets.

Spend an hour with our website and online materials to further your own education. Go to our website and: sign up for our newsletter; read a couple of past newsletter editions; read about our founding 30+ years ago; become familiar with local and state LGBTQ+ resources; read a pdf of one of our booklets (recommended: Our Trans Loved Ones, Guide to Being an Ally to Trans and Nonbinary People, Our Children). After an hour, our hope is that you could speak accurately and positively about PFLAG Colorado Springs.

Harley's HopeParticipate in our 150 Tables Across COS initiative by setting a table and a couple of chairs in your front yard, driveway, or porch. Put out something easy like lemonade, cookies, or sliced watermelon, and invite whoever walks by to sit down for a few minutes. That's the whole thing. No guest list, no big meal, no plan beyond showing up and saying hello. A table out in the open is a simple, friendly way of saying "you can stop here." Most connection starts with something that small!

Reclaiming HopeTake a "Hey Neighbor" walk by walking around your block and saying hello to everyone you pass. Wave at the person on their porch, chat with the neighbor getting their mail, and introduce yourself to at least one person you've never met. The goal is simple: come home knowing one new name. A lot of us live near people we've never spoken to for years. A 20-minute walk is one of the easiest ways to change that.

Angels of America's FallenHereβs something fun that you can do on June 23rd: Grab a friend and look toward the East-Northeast about one hour before sunrise on June 23rd. Mars passes near the Pleiades star cluster all that week, and it will be the last time Mars makes such a close approach to the Pleiades until 2034. Mars will be low on the horizon, so a binocularβs optical assist is recommended to see both Mars and the Pleiades together. And remember, if you want to learn more about the planets and space exploration, you can always visit us at 4425 Arrowswest Dr, Colorado Springs, Tues through Sat, 10am-4pm (closed on holidays). Stay curious and keep looking up!
Space Foundation Discovery CenterKnow a child who loves to sing? On Tuesday, June 23, help us connect one young person to the joy of music by recommending the Colorado Springs Children's Chorale to a child or family who might enjoy auditioning. Auditions for the 2026-27 season are open through June 26. Share our audition information with a friend, neighbor, grandchild, student, or family member and help us introduce more young singers to the confidence, friendships, and musical opportunities that come from being part of the Children's Chorale.
