What is Loving Living Local?

Fox21’s Loving Living Local is a daily morning show on the local news station. They have generously reserved a nonprofit segment every Wednesday morning for an organization participating in the Give! Campaign. Give! staff help facilitate the segment scheduling in partnership with the hosts of Loving Living Local.

How many spots are there, and why is it so competitive?

Give! has 52 spots a year, one per week. This campaign year runs July 2026 through June 2027 and includes 75 nonprofits, so spots go quickly. We will open a wait list in the second half of the campaign year, and Fox21 has historically been good about finding a time slot for anyone who wants one.

How do I get a spot?

Spots are released in batches, usually covering a few months at a time, on a first come, first serve basis. I will always tell you ahead of time so you can plan, usually in the weekly newsletter. Releases always go live at 9:00 AM, and spots often go within the first 30 to 45 minutes.

Talk with your team before the release date. Decide who is responsible for grabbing your spot, and only take one spot per organization.

I clicked the sign up link and no dates are showing. Did it break?

No, it did not break. When no dates are available, that means all the spots in this release have been taken. Keep an eye out for the next release and be ready to move quickly.

How many spots can my organization take?

One spot per organization per Give! Campaign year, which runs July 2026 through June 2027. It resets every campaign year. Give! and Fox21 both track this across every release, so a second spot claimed under the same organization will be cancelled.

If your last appearance was before July 2026, please wait at least six months from that date before signing up again.

What can we talk about during our segment?

Whatever you want. There is no requirement to mention Give! or the campaign, especially outside the November through January window. Use the time to talk about your mission, share your impact, promote an upcoming event, or launch a new program. The hosts like guests who bring energy and do more than sit and talk, so think about what would make for good live TV.

Should we take the first spot available, or wait?

Think ahead before you grab a date. Give! holds this spot year round, and I will keep sending out sign ups for the rest of the year for the 2026 class. If your organization has a big event coming up later in the year, it is often smarter to wait and get airtime closer to that event rather than using your spot early just because it was available.

What happens after I sign up?

You will get a confirmation email right after you submit the sign up. That email contains a link to a required Guest Appearance form, which needs to be completed with all requested information and media. Add your date to your calendar as soon as you get that confirmation, because no further reminder will come from me.

The Fox21 hosts will reach out directly by Tuesday afternoon the week of your appearance to go over final details.

What do we need to know for the day of?

Once you sign up for a date, you are expected to be at the studio that day. Treat it as a firm commitment on your calendar. If your plans changed, please let me know ASAP.

  • Plan to arrive by 8:30 AM and be available until around 9:45 AM.
  • Your segment runs four to five minutes during the 9:00 AM broadcast, unless the hosts contact you to schedule something different.
  • Park in the side visitor lot and sign in at the front desk.
  • Once your segment wraps, you are free to go.

What if we miss this round?

There will be more chances! Watch the weekly update for the announcement of the next release date and time, set yourself a reminder, and have your team ready to move the moment the form opens.

Give! Campaign Commercial
The Loving Living Local spot is different from the Campaign Commercial we will make in October. There will be a separate sign up for that at a later date. More information to come in October.
