UpaDowna’s mission is to provide access to outdoor adventures for all through events and programs that empower individuals, create healthier communities, and foster a respect for the environment. Whether you are a new or seasoned adventurer, we welcome all ability levels, ages, and backgrounds. UpaDowna offers FREE or donation-based events and programs ranging from biking, climbing, hiking, SUP and more!
The Colorado Springs community is fortunate to be surrounded by the Rocky Mountains where there are endless adventures to be explored, however, not all individuals have the ability, experience, or resources to access the outdoors and outdoor adventures. At UpaDowna, we break down barriers and welcome all individuals regardless of background or ability to engage in our free or donation-based programs!
Volunteers for our bike, climb, SUP, and hiking programs, donations to continue to offer free and accessible programs, equipment including a projector and screen for our Adventure on Tap Series.
A 2017 survey among parents found a lack of affordable options is the most common barrier to children’s participation in physical activity.
“This is the first time ever in life that I've been on the water. No swimming, no kayaking, no water skiing, nothing. I've come to UpaDowna SUP today and just killed it! They've been supportive and so much fun! That fear of the water has gone away!” — Participant of Open SUP Program
