TESSA

What

TESSA supports victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and human trafficking in the Pikes Peak region. Services include our Safehouse program, 24/7 Safe Line, confidential advocacy, counseling, legal and housing aid, youth and children’s programming, as well as community outreach and educational resources. Through these programs and services, TESSA strives to realize our vision of a community free of violence.

Why

The rate of sexual assault in Colorado Springs is double the nation’s average. After quarantine increased Safeline calls by 53%, illustrating how much hurt happens behind closed doors, TESSA’s holistic approach to healing is more important than ever. In addition to our existing victim services and prevention aids, we’re proud this year to add a human trafficking department, addressing the area’s growing need.

Needs

TESSA always needs volunteers willing to undertake confidential victim advocacy training. Our shifting needs can be found on the Donate Now/Volunteer tab of our website, or our Amazon wish-list.

Did You Know

During the 2020 quarantine, we saw 500-600 more monthly Safeline calls than in previous years, a nearly 50% increase in demand for our services.

“I am beyond grateful for the support TESSA provided my friend...Without TESSA’s financial and emotional support, I don’t know what she or hundreds of other women just like her would face as they try to pick up the pieces, heal, and move forward.” — Lyn
