SKSF Zach’s Place is a lifeline for families of kids with severe issues, offering daycare & respite services to children ages two and a half to eighteen years old who have high behavioral, developmental, physical and/or medical needs. Zach’s Place engages kids in fun, inclusive activities (music, art, science, indoor gym, outdoor playground, gardening) while teaching critical safety and life skills. 85% of low-income families pay on a sliding scale averaging $4.90/hr (actual cost is $28/hr).
Caregivers of children with high needs rarely receive community or government support and as a result, face stressors that compromise their own health, as well as their family’s stability. At Zach’s Place we are committed to serve children with the highest needs, supporting low-income families by providing them with the respite they desperately need, offering time for them to strengthen their family unit, regroup & refresh.
We need a volunteer carpenter to perform some minor repairs and general landscaping maintenance. Specialized equipment is needed for the center. We also need volunteers to join our board.
Zach’s Place is ONE of only two licensed childcare centers in Colorado serving children with very high behavioral, developmental, physical & medical needs.
“After being turned away from other centers, we discovered the staff at Zach’s Place to be kind, competent and caring. We can now attend church, eat out and spend time as a family to decompress from the challenges we face every minute with our son.” — Salvador family speaking of 11-yr old son, Gabriel
