Homeward Pikes Peak

Homeward Pikes Peak provides housing programs for individuals and families with substance use disorders and/or mental illness, and chronic homelessness. Providing access to care through housing and substance use treatment, HPP can break the cycle of addiction, and recidivism into the criminal justice systems. Safe and stable housing and recovery programs are necessary for a healthy and vibrant community.

National research estimates that nearly 68% of persons experiencing homelessness have a severe mental illness or a history of substance abuse (SAMHSA). More than 60% of all HPP clients reported physical violence toward them at some point in their lives (Bailey, 2018). This trauma has a crippling effect resulting in mental health issues, substance abuse, and overall instability.

Volunteers to run a weekly food pantry, donations of small household items, new bedding/pillows, jackets/gloves/hats.

“The actual love and care I feel from HPP is huge. I’m more open now to talking about my recovery and the issues I’ve had in the past. I feel a sense of community. The Harbor House is really structured and what I needed this time for real change.” — Devon Reavis
