First Tee — Southern Colorado is a youth development organization that enables kids to build the strength of character that empowers them through a lifetime of challenges. We provide kids, ages 3-18, opportunities to learn the game of golf while seamlessly integrating it with a life skills curriculum that creates active learning experiences, builds inner strength, self-confidence, and resilience.
We believe every kid deserves the chance to build inner strength before the world demands it, to find the joy that comes with feeling confident in their own skin, and to access experiences and spaces where personal growth happens. At the First Tee we are committed to continuing to break down barriers that keep kids and families from feeling like they belong- no matter what walk of life.
Volunteers! You don’t need to know how to golf, just how to be patient and have a passion for kids! We work hard to keep our rations at 1:5 (1 volunteer to every 5 kids) to ensure quality coaching.
1 in 7 students are not graduating from high school, but 84% of First Tee participants credit our programs with helping them be better students.
