Ahavah Community Inititative

Ahavah Community Initiative connects people facing food insecurity due to financial struggles to locally farmed, regeneratively grown produce by offering donated memberships to a local CSA program. Memberships include a weekly bag of fresh vegetables along with discounted (or free) farm tours, classes, and events centered around healthy living and environmental consciousness.

Connecting people facing food insecurity due to finances with fresh produce is an important service others are not offering. Most food banks offer non-perishable goods (canned or boxed), which can be full of preservatives and lack the nutritional value of their fresh counterparts. People with allergies and food sensitivities struggle with processed foods but can eat most fresh vegetables without negative reactions.

We need 10 committed volunteers thru fall and winter seasons to assist with CSA bagging, gardening, and educational projects. We also need monetary donations to allow us to purchase and donate CSA shares.

Did You Know

A statewide survey, by Hunger Free Colorado, found almost 2 in 5 (38 percent) of Coloradans are  food insecure, meaning they lack reliable access to nutritious food.

“Receiving these donated shares has been life changing...and now not only am I able to cook and eat healthy, but also be a part of an amazing community that works together to continue the mission of feeding people and healing the earth!” — Brian G.
